Bio

Kendra Blethen is a Christian Folk singer/songwriter from the rolling foothills of North Carolina.
Falling in love with poetry at a very young age, Kendra started crafting songs from her poems on a small keyboard in her room. At 20, she bought her first guitar at the Signal Hill Mall in Statesville, and from that day, she has never stopped writing.
She’s been sharing her songs on a variety of stages on the East Coast for over 15 years. Her peaceful sound is rooted in folk and alternative, with lyrics that sing out stories of lasting hope, love and her trust in Jesus.

The audience is taken on a holy journey to a deeper spiritual destination than what is seen with the eyes. These songs send the listener on a one way pilgrimage to a resplendent world of poetic imagination. Her lyrics take you on roadtrips, carry you to the sea, or bring you right into her living room, all while discussing the deepest meanings of life and faith. She was musically inspired by 90’s alternative and grunge, and all the groundbreaking folk artists of the folk revolution, therefore these themes are evident at the core of her music. The warm and cavernous vocals float above and in between the backdrop of earthy folk landscapes created by an acoustic guitar. The heights of the spiritual mountains climbed within each story reveals the heart of one fervently in tune with her Creator.
